چکیده
: Lung cancer is one of the most common causes death in US. Screening for lung has therefore become imperative as early detection shown to improve survival. Low dose computed tomography (CT) imaging chest an important tool help identify nodules screened population. Once a nodule identified, there are several ways obtain diagnosis, with technique dependent on location and size nodule. About 500,000 bronchoscopies performed annually US goal diagnosis but 65% these fails reach peripheral lesions. This results diagnostic yield around 14% lesions less than 2 cm size. lower that CT-guided biopsy. A variety new technologies tools have been developed bronchoscopic tissue solitary pulmonary (SPN), continue limited success setting small nodules. review will focus electromagnetic navigational (EMN) guided percutaneous transthoracic biopsy not amenable bronchoscopy by non-interventional radiology providers.

Use of Electromagnetic Navigational Transthoracic Needle Aspiration (E-TTNA) for Sampling of Lung Nodules.
Lung nodule evaluation represents a clinical challenge especially in patients with intermediate risk for malignancy. Multiple technologies are presently available to sample nodules for pathological diagnosis. Those technologies can be divided into bronchoscopic and non-bronchoscopic interventions. Electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy is being extensively used for the endobronchial approach...

Biopsies of thoracic lesions guidance. 22 of the 1 12 lesions were mediastinal and 83 were pleuroparenchymal. A large-bore 14-gauge Tru-cut needle was used in all patients. Adequate specimens for histologic examination were obtained in 98%. The overall accuracy was 91 % with 9% false negative and no false positive diagnoses. Despite the large size of the needle, the total number of complic...
متن کاملNavigational Bronchoscopy for Early Lung Cancer: A Road to Therapy
Peripheral lung nodules remain challenging for accurate localization and diagnosis. Once identified, there are many strategies for diagnosis with heterogeneous risk benefit analysis. Traditional strategies such as conventional bronchoscopy have poor performance in locating and acquiring the required tissue. Similarly, while computerized-assisted transthoracic needle biopsy is currently the favo...

The present study prospectively evaluated the diagnostic yield and safety of electromagnetic navigation-guided bronchoscopy biopsy, for small peripheral lung lesions in patients where standard techniques were nondiagnostic. The study was conducted in a tertiary medical centre on 40 consecutive patients considered unsuitable for straightforward surgery or computed tomography (CT)-guided transtho...

Electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy (ENB), one of the methods of navigational bronchoscopy is an advanced diagnostic tool allowing tissue sampling at the lung peripheries which were previously accessible only by computed tomography (CT) guidance or video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). We report a 53-year-old man who presented with a cough and dyspnea with constitutional symptoms f...
